Complete beginners preparing themselves and their new helicopter for their first attempts at flying are often faced with many and varied problems.
For example: how can you run-in a new engine correctly - under varying load conditions - when the only option on the flight plan is hovering? What kind of opportunities are available besides the use of a propeller (which might not be possible under all conditions)?
The running-in aid allows you to vary the engine's speed on the ground. The aid must not be used for more than 3/4 throttle because higher rpm would damage the engine during its run-in period. The system places a sensible load on the main rotor with no danger of the helicopter lifting off. Avoid the risk of holding the model down on a work bench e.g. while you run up the engine with the rotor spinning! We suggest the use of the engine running-in aid.
